Mike Esser is a Managing Director with Pearl Meyer & Partners in the Los Angeles office, where he consults with clients on a wide range of executive, employee and equity compensation issues. Mr. Esser has more than 20 years of consulting experience in compensation and benefits, specializing in executive and board compensation, compensation strategy, short- and long-term incentive plan design and competitive analyses. Mike holds the Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP) designation through the WorldatWork Society of Certified Professionals, and is a regular speaker at forums including the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD); the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP); Corporate Board Member / NYSE Euronext West Coast Boardroom Summit; USC Corporate Governance Summit; Forum for Corporate Directors and the Corporate Directors Group. Prior to joining Pearl Meyer & Partners, Mr. Esser served as a consultant and manager with Arthur Andersen LLP. Earlier, Mr. Esser was an executive compensation consultant and manager with Hewitt Associates, and was responsible for managing business development for Hewitt’s annual compensation survey business and co-managed that firm’s Total Compensation Measurement Database. He holds a BBA with a concentration in Finance from Loyola University of Chicago.
